Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point. -C.S. Lewis

Our health and our lives are changing...and it's great!

I'm always weary when it comes to trying out new things, but about six months ago my sister Jessa got me started on a new line of supplements, and now our family is using them and loving them. The biggest change for me has been how clear my skin is and how my migraines have stopped. I used to have horrible breakouts each month, now I never do. It's amazing. People who know me can't believe how much better my skin is. I'm not taking hormones or any other prescriptions either. Just good diet and supplements!

The supplements are called Isotonix. They are all isotonic, which means “same pressure,”and bear the same chemical resemblance of the body’s blood, plasma and tears. All fluids in the body have a certain concentration, referred to as osmotic pressure. The body’s common osmotic pressure, which is isotonic, allows a consistent maintenance of body tissues. In order for a substance to be absorbed and used in the body’s metabolism, it must be transported in an isotonic state.

Here are a few of the ones I've been using, but there are a lot more depending on your needs.

Vitamin B Comlex -
A B-complex vitamin is a mixture of the eight essential B-vitamins, including thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), pantothenic Acid (B5), folic acid (B9), cyanocobalamin (B12) and biotin. Most of the B-vitamins play a critical role as cofactors in cellular energy metabolism. B-vitamins are important for hundreds of biochemical reactions in the body. B vitamin deficiency can lead to fatigue and lethargy, which is why B-complex supplements are excellent energy boosters and anti-stress formulas.

OPC-3-
Isotonix OPC-3® is an isotonic-capable food supplement that is made from a combination of bilberry, grape seed, red wine and pine bark extracts, and citrus extract bioflavonoids, all found to be powerful antioxidants. Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) are bioflavonoids (complex organic plant compounds) found in fruits, vegetables and certain tree barks that provide exceptional nutritional benefits to the human body. Studies have shown OPCs to be up to 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E in neutralizing free radicals. nutraMetrix Isotonix OPC-3 contains the only isotonic form of Pycnogenol® in the world.

Vitamin C-
The two most important factors when searching for the best quality nutritional supplements are absorption and potency. Isotonix supplements, when mixed with water, have the same pH and osmotic pressure as the body’s fluids, such as tears, plasma and blood. In order for meaningful absorption of nutritional content to take place, all food must be converted into an isotonic state. This process could take up to three hours. This time consuming process limits the amount of nutrients absorbed by the body. However, our Isotonix Vitamin C sets itself apart from other products on the market providing you with the maximum absorption of the nutrients within the product in the shortest amount of time. All in all, Isotonix Vitamin C provides superior delivery of the nutrients your body needs in the most cost effective way. According to researchers at the University of Leeds, Guy’s Hospital in London, Baylor University and the Mayo Clinic, among others, have shown that not only do isotonic solutions leave the stomach faster, but also that the osmotic pressure of the stomach contents is one of the controlling mechanisms for the rate at which the stomach empties leading to more efficient assimilation by all of the body’s systems. The liquid composition of Isotonix Vitamin C Formula places the vitamins and minerals in an optimal position for absorption and superior delivery to the body’s systems. Isotonix Vitamin C is an exemplary product that leaves you with peace of mind, knowing that you are doing the most and the best for your health.*

Might-A-Mins- For Kids!
Might-A-Mins® Spectrum Isotonix OPC-3® provides a strong antioxidant defense which is especially beneficial for children who need neurological, metabolic, or digestive support. Children benefit from Might-a-Mins Spectrum Isotonix OPC-3 for numerous reasons. Might-a-Mins Spectrum Isotonix OPC-3 serves as a powerful free radical scavenger, combating oxidative stress in the body. Due to the excessive quantities of toxins ingested by humans, the liver often cannot work fast enough to rid the body of all toxins. Supplementation with OPC-3 assists in providing antioxidant defense, maintaining brain health, and supporting the production of neurotransmitters.*

Anyways, it's not a scam, I just wanted to pay it forward and let everyone know about these products. Plus if you use this link you get cash back, which is great.

Mother's Day Tea Party! With some baby chickens involved...

Today Ethan's class had a special day for moms at school! We had a tea party and held some baby chicks, and the class sang songs they've been working on all year! It was very cute! I love being a mommy!

One more day...

This weekend was Ethan's away from home. I'm not sure why, but for some reason I missed Ethan even more than usual. He will be home tomorrow and I just can't wait. It never ceases to amaze me how much I love him, and how close we are. Someone recently told me that Ethan and I look totally different in separate photos than we do together. I think that's because together we're both totally at home and at peace no matter where we are or what we are doing.

Life is busy but GOOD!

Ethan and I have been perfecting the art of fort building. Our latest fort was without question the best yet. Please see photographic evidence.

My friend Donna and I took Ethan and her son Elias to How to Train Your Dragon IMAX 3D. It was such a cute movie and the 3D was outstanding! The little guys loved it and it was definetely worth seeing in the theater! The ride home was interesting. Elias was a dragon, Ethan was using the good ol' light saber.

Also, Mario the Guinea Pig is getting more and more adventurous! He likes to scamper around on the hard wood exploring. But watch out, he'll eat house plants!

We are getting our professional pictures done soon, so those will be posted when I get them! Here's to spring and sunny weather!

Easter Weekend here we come!

It's Good Friday and Easter is almost here! Ethan gets home today from a week long trip with his dad to the coast. I can't wait to hear what funny little stories he has for me!

This weekend we're planning on brunch and Clash of the Titans 3D (and of course the egg dying and easter egg hunt). It will be good to have some family time after Ethan's time away. It's crazy how much I missed him.
